What People Say

Doug Russell, President of the Vancouver American Wine Society, declared:

As President of the Society, I have, for over 30 years, facilitated many wine tastings with some of the most experienced and highly regarded winemakers in the industry. We regularly taste only the top 5% of wines in price and quality and to win an event is a quite an accomplishment. Frank's wine was voted the best at our annual Cabernet Sauvignon/Big Reds tasting. Some of the wines tasted at that event were Heitz, Silver Oak, Darioush, Chateaux Montelena and Beaulieu Georges de Latour Private Reserve.

On four other occasions, we had Frank supply Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Merlot and Syrah. California Cult Classics was also voted the best wine of the evening at the Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Merlot and Syrah tastings. This is a remarkable feat since these wines require different winemaking protocols and skills. Never in the history of the Vancouver American Wine Society has one winery rated first place so many times. This is an astonishing feat."

John Skinner, wine proprietor at Painted Rock, noted:

“Frank masterfully devised and oversaw all the wine-making protocol for Painted Rock single varieta in our first vintage (2007). Our 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon won the 2010 BC Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence, our 2007 Red Icon blend won the 2010 BC Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence and our 2007 was named the Best Merlot at the 2010 Okanagan Spring Wine Festival.”

Dave Michell of Beckstoffer Vineyards states:

“Frank Gigliotti made the best Pinot Noir ever to come from our Las Amigas

Carneros vineyard. Upon tasting we thought he had included a percentage of Syrah. Stunning wine by all measures.”

Dr. Jan Krupp, Stagecoach Vineyards states:

“There is no question that the best wine produced from Stagecoach Grapes is made in Canada, is by Frank Gigliotti .”
